My Sweet Little Mother Hen

Haylee. My first born. She is so nurturing. Always wanting to take care of little ones around her. She loves it! That's one of the things I love about her. I have a million, gazillion more things I love about her, but I'll talk about this one today. Every where we go, a birthday party, a soccer game, a play date, H will make her way to the babies.

My nephews came to watch H and G's soccer games last weekend. The girls had so much fun playing with them. And H was the Little Mother Hen once again.

And, here she is at Sydney's birthday party holding Maci. H didn't want to put her down. At all. If she wasn't holding her, they were holding hands. So cute.

Their hair kinda looks like the same color here, doesn't it?

I'm happy that I'll have this little Mother Hen to babysit the princess one day. Not any day soon. But one day. And, don't worry, I won't take advantage. And she'll get some type of reward for watching G. I think that's fair.

Birthdays and Ears

Last month we hosted MeMe and PaPa's birthday celebration. Their birthdays are back to back. We had fajitas and all the fixings and, of course, cake!

Happy Birthday to you!

Cousins. On Bryan's side of the family, we are the only ones with girls. Boys galore on the Rand side. My SIL is preggo with #4, though, so that could change. We are hoping for a girl anyway!

So, some of you may or may not know that the princess has had her ears pierced before. Well, she just wasn't ready and they kept getting infected. It was gross. So, I took her earrings out and the little holes shut right up! About a month ago, she asked is she could get her ears re- pierced. I wasn't sure about it, but she assured me she was ready. The hubs said let's do it, so we did.
Here's the princess before, maybe second guessing herself.

Here she is right after. A few tears but not much.

Look at those sweet little ears. I'm so proud of my 5 year old princess. They've been in for a few weeks now and all is well. I'm not sure if she'll ever let me take them out, but that's ok. Baby steps.

Walking and the Park

A walk to the park a couple of weeks ago to meet some friends. We love walking. Well, the girls would rather ride their bikes or scooters, but some days you just need to walk, you know?!

The princess ahead of everyone yet again.

Baby got BACK!

Didn't mean to take this pic but it's kinda cool.

This little contraption is popular at the park. You hang on for dear life and spin. It hurts your hands. I have blisters to prove it.

A game of Red Rover. It didn't end good. Tears and all.

Heading back to the hood.

Back at home. We really need to do yard work. Need new mulch and some flowers. But a few flowers are sprouting up from last year. Spring time. Lovin' it!!

Tidbits

I'm going to start off with a comment by H. "Oh Man, I just let one rip!" Funny girl. Tooting and burping makes the Rands laugh. Out loud.

Now something about little thing. I tell my friends and fam I love them all the time! Especially on the way out. The other day a friend of G's was leaving, and she yells out, "I love you, Maddi!" So sweet!

Our summer plans have changed a bit. But it's all good. We are heading to the Virgin Islands early on in the summer. OMG! I can't wait! Uncle Donny and Kara are meeting us there. We planned on going to Florida with all of our fam to renew our vows, but it was way too hectic to work around a million different schedules and such. So, this is what we're doing. Plane tickets and condo booked!

That's all for now. Hope you all had a great Monday!

The Last of It

Finally getting to the last of our Kentucky trip pics.

This little ferry putted my Yukon over the water.

It was fun! The captain of the boat took our picture and told us the history of the ferry.

Horses and pastures are everywhere. Love this sweet picture of Momma and Baby.

Keeneland. Horse racing place.

We found a stable with some horses, and the owner was kind and let us pet them. He even gave us mints to feed them. We liked horses before, but now we love them! H loved every minute of it!

Our little princess was a little scared at first, but daddy made it all ok.

And once she got comfortable, she didn't want to leave. I didn't want to leave either!

I love this butterfly chair. How cute would this be outside on a patio? It could be yours for a mere $3000.00. Really? I think I'll pass.

My sweet girls at GG's house.

More horse petting. This was at the Horse Park.

Proud to be an American at the Horse Park. And then my camera died. Such a bummer!

Still Rocks It!

Sunday evening, I had the pleasure of going to the Bon Jovi concert with my sister, my niece and Angela. It was Jurnee's first concert, and I'm so happy I was there with her. And, the concert was amazing (the company, too)! I have to say, Bon Jovi still has it. I mean really. He most certainly does.

My sis, Jurnee and me. We don't need to mention that she's only 15 and she's taller than me. And I was wearing heels.

Our seats, thanks to Frank (Ashley's hubby). He got Ashley 4 tickets to the concert for her bday. Sweet hubby and a great gift.

BJ in action. These pics are from my iphone since I couldn't fit my camera in my tiny little clutch.

Me and Jurnee. I'm not sure why we look so shiny. I can assure you that we were not sweating or that oily. Very odd.

Me and my sis

Thanks for the wonderful evening Ashley, Jurnee and Angela!

Commons Park

Our weekend walk took us to a fun little park not far from home. Many different trails to walk on. A pond with fish and turtles to look at. And a park to play on.

"The World" spins around slowly.

Sugar loves our walks.

This picture sums up my girls. Gracie, running with her arms out, never stops. Ever. Always on the go. Haylee, walking at a somewhat quick pace, taking things in. Observing what's around her. I love my girls, just the way they are!

Make a wish.

The muddy pond.

H loves to walk the dog.

On our way home. Tired and hot!!

Over the mountains and through the woods

One of our favorite days in Kentucky was spent hiking with Bryan's uncle and aunt. It seriously was so beautiful, it was breathtaking. We loved the outdoors before, but this hike moved us like nothing else. So moving that every weekend (since we've been back), we go to a new park and find new trails to walk and new scenery to take in. It's uninterrupted family time, and Sugar loves it, too.

Lots of pics to share, my friends. Lots.

We were at Uncle Charlie and Aunt Vicki's house. The girls and I were trying so hard to call over the horses but nothing we did worked. Gracie didn't want to give up.

The hiking crew

We learned so much on our little adventure. Aunt Vicki was showing H a conglomerate rock.

Trail signs

The swinging bridge. Not a fan. At. All. And Bryan and Charlie would swing that bridge back and forth. It was awful. The things I do for my kids!

Some more learning

We had just climbed up the "Indian Staircase" here. It was scary! I freaked a bit. We survived. All was good with the world.

The hubs and I

This is a pic of the "Indian Staircase." See the slanted part by the cliff. That's what we climbed up. There's little holes in the rock to put your feet in. And it's scary. But I think I already said that.

Here's another pic of it.

The girls loved Aunt Vicki. They both wanted to be by her the whole time!

This beautiful rock was in an arch. You can't really tell here but it had purple, orange, yellow colors in it. Amazing!

All that walking works up an appetite. Snack time.

One of the rock arches.

Where's Haylee

One of my favorites. I love how happy my girls look. I wish they would always be this happy!

Ok, I won't tell you what I think this looks like. It's a red mushroom. And it was weird! When we picked the stick up (with the mushroom on it), the mushroom let off this steam stuff.

I'll leave you with a video.
