The deer were amazing--so many of them and not at all afraid of humans!

This wild hog was in the mix with the deer. It was so funny to see the beautiful deer running so gracefully and then this big, fat pig trotting amongst them! He wanted to be fed, too!

The shaggy bison

Check out that tongue!

This summer we've found a new little 'treasure' close by. We didn't actually find it, one of our friend's has been going there for awhile now, but this summer was our first. Now we've been 3 or 4 times! The drive is only about 30 minutes. There's sand. Water. Sun. What more could you ask for? The girls always have a fabulous time. We pack coolers with drinks, lunch, and snacks and stay for hours!
These pictures are from our first trip out. We celebrated Sophie's birthday there!

The girls playing in the sand.

Little Miss Gracie. Looking happy!

And Haylee with her 'stylin' blue sunglasses. ;)

Daddy taking the girls out. I didn't venture out in the water this trip. The sand on the bottom felt so slimy and yucky! I don't like that feeling!

Can't remember what she ate here, but it looks like she enjoyed it!!

More sand playing

Sweet sisters

Sweet friends. Gracie and Gracie. Seriously! These girls are both Grace Elizabeth! Crazy!

Race for the Cure

We've been doing the Race for the Cure for several years now--I think this past year was 5 or 6. We walk in honor of my Nanny. She is a breast cancer survivor of 20 years now! Wow! Congratulations, Nanny!
This walk is obviously near and dear to my heart since Nanny was diagnosed with it, but I also think of my mom, sister, daughters, cousins, other family and friends when we walk. This walk always amazes me, seeing all of the pink, all of the survivors. And then there's definite sadness to see all of the "In Memory of" banners on shirts. Little children, husbands, wives, mothers, ect. having to lose a loved one to cancer is a harsh reality.
I feel as if this is a little way to help find a cure. Donating to such a good cause makes me feel good, and I hope that it rubs off on my children and that they will do the same when they are older.

The Girl Scouts. They earned a badge by walking in the 3K. Way to go, Girls!

The crew that walked. And there was Billy, but he got stuck taking the picture.

Out of our group, everyone had a sign on. Either for honoring or remembering.
