Three Fun Days

Number 1. Field Day at H's school. Orange was their color. H even had orange nail polish. Love that kid!

Look how much fun she's having!! I love seeing her laugh like this. Makes a mama's heart so full.

Day 2. The girls recital. They had so much fun and did so well.

Day 3. I'll call this Donna's Day. Our good friend from the hood has been battling breast cancer. A couple of weeks ago, she had her last treatment. We all surprised her on that last day by lining the street with all of us holding posters with inspirational messages on her way home. It was amazing!!! Very, very emotional and touching. To see all of these women come together to support one woman fighting cancer is amazing.

Bike Riding and Hunchback

Gracie is growing up so fast! Seriously?! I want it to slow down. Like right now. She went to the dentist today, and we found out that she has another loose tooth. Just barely. But it's still loose.
And then this. Little princess now rides her bike with no training wheels. She was ready, just took off and had no fear. So proud of her. And she's most definitely proud of herself.

The hubs helping the princess get started.

Look at that precious smile. So proud of herself.

Posture. Mine sucks. The other day I was eating with a friend and noticed I was all hunched over. Yuck. How unattractive is that?!?! I think when I'm older, I may have a big ol' hump on my back. I really don't want that. So, I'm working on my posture because I don't want to be known as "The Hunchback!" I read an article that said good posture makes you feel great and your physical appearance will look tall and confident. I'm all for that!

You know you're getting older when . . .

. . . you ask for a vacuum cleaner for you birthday, and when you get one, you feel super excited!! Seriously, when I opened the box, it was like lights were shining all over and happy music was playing! I was vacuuming at 7:30am yesterday. On my birthday.
I know, I have some serious issues. But this little beauty makes me happy. I have to blame my mom a little for my fondness of vacuums. When I was growing up, my mom would vacuum pretty much every day. My sister and I would just roll our eyes at her. She would have to have those perfect little lines. And, she didn't want us to walk in the dining or formal living room because our footprints would mess up those pretty little vacuum lines! Ha!
Well, I have to admit, I now love those vacuum lines. And, although I don't vacuum every day, I do vacuum a lot! And guess what? I'm pretty sure my girls are the ones rolling their eyes now!

The Animal by Dyson. This vacuum is awesome if you have a pet. Super powerful. Super suction. Super vacuum.

Thanks go out to my sweet little family for the perfect bday gift! xoxoxo

My BFF, Slug Bugs and the Girls

My BFF, Kristin, is in the blue. I am missing her and her family so much! Especially today! It's my bday and I wish that she was here with me to celebrate! But we'll be celebrating together soon! The girls and I are going to FL this summer to spend some time with the Sullinger family!! I can't wait!

My two precious girls are professional slug bug spiers. Do any of you play that game? Seriously, they can spot a bug miles away. Blue slug bug, yellow slug bug with a cap on top (convertible). I never realized how popular slugs were in North TX!! My little hen wants a green one, my princess a rainbow one and me, I want a yellow one. With a cap on top! Ha! Now they're spotting motorcycles, jeeps and minis (the PT cruisers). Our car rides are fun. Oh yeah.

H has bridged from a Brownie to a Junior in Girl Scouts. I am a proud mama bear! I love what GS stands for. This will probably be her last year, so we're going to enjoy it!

My sweet little princess has a loose tooth! I seriously can't take it! She's starting kinder in the fall AND her teeth are going to start falling out!!! She is so excited about it all. She walks around telling everyone that she can snap, ride a bike with 2 wheels and has a loose tooth. Her life is good.

My Life at the Moment

May is such a crazy month. End of soccer, ending of dance, school's almost out. Everyone and anyone wants money from you for one reason or another. Soccer gift for coaches. Gifts for dance teachers. End of the year gifts for teachers.

Don't get my wrong. I love the month of May. It's one of my favorites. The weather is usually great. We spend lots of time outside which the Rand fam loves to do. Lots of patio dinners. Lots of bbq's. I smile just thinking about it!

Life at our house has been out of sorts. Lots of family things going on. My sister has had some health issues, but I'm happy to report that everything is going well now! Such a relief. Scary there for awhile!!!! I love my sister so much!!!
And, my papa fell at my mom's house (where he lives now) and was rushed to the hospital. We thought he broke his leg, but it turns out that he dislocated his hip. We spent hours and hours at the ER where they gave him some morphine and popped it back into place. My mom and I couldn't watch, so my sister and dad stayed with him while they did that. Ouch is all I can say! But my papa hardly even flinched. That happened Monday, and he's still at the hosptial. He's a strong man, y'all. Been through so much these past few months. He'll be 90 in September. I love him so much!!!

This weekend is consumed with dance. Rehearsal tomorrow night. Recital Saturday. The girls are so excited. I think the princess is more excited about putting her costume and make-up on than the actual recital. H is excited about it all!

We're planning on going back to the Arboretum for Mother's Day. Love it there. It's going to be a very hard day for my mom. It'll be the first Mother's day without her mom. Hurts my heart tremendously. But my sister and I will be there for her. I love my momma so much!!!

Hope you all have a fabulous weekend! And, happy Mother's Day to all of you moms!!! xoxox
